Now on CD from Progressive, who bought the Lim masters. Two LPs, I'll Play for You (May 1980) and in Hollywood with Danny Stiles (summer 1978). This is the first release on compact disc for both of these albums. http://www.worldsrecords.com/cgi-bin/storeR.cgi?specific=itemcode&phrase=62041 Jeff Thompson ------------------------------ Message: 3 Date: Tue, 29 Jan 2008 09:31:27 -0500 (EST) From: Wes Funderburk Subject: Re: [Trombone-l] Bill Watrous on CD To: "trombone-l@server5.samford.edu" Message-ID: <18949668.1201617087466.JavaMail.root@elwamui-wigeon.atl.sa.earthlink.net> Content-Type: text/plain; charset=UTF-8 Also, if you happen to buy this particular CD you'll notice a special thanks to me on the back. I supplied the LP, "I'll Play For You," to their mastering engineer so that he could lift it and re-master it. One of the guys who works there contacted me after seeing the list of records on my website and asked if he could borrow one of my prized Bill Watrous LP's for a week. I told him that in this world I have a short list of people, items and possessions that mean more to me than anything...and bodily harm and possible death could be the punishment for disturbing any of them. My family, my dog and my record collection. If he was to borrow one of my favorite records that meant he could be taking his own life in his hands... Also, in return I asked him if they would include my in the credits and he said yes... Sure, I'm gloating...it's a good story! ----------------------- FYI Bill Watrous in a small group setting, original recordings done for Harry Lim's Famous Door label. I'm hanging on to my Manhattan Wildlife Refuge and Tiger of San Pedro LPs, even though I haven't had a turntable set up for years.
