Schwartz) From: Jackie Harris-Stone Date: Wed, 16 Mar 2005 10:56:12 -0800 (PST) To: Robert Bowman , Subject: Re: [Trombone-l] Instrumentation I had a situation where I needed to find the instrumentation for a Revueltas piece- he often does only 2 trombones, and I wanted the week off. He was not listed in the David Daniels book (assuming that's the book my orchestra has). What worked for me was is to google with as much information as possible, but avoid anything that might be misspelled (i.e Revueltas and Silvestre are okay, but a title like symphony will be sinfonia in spanish so you avoid it). Include in the google search the word "STR", which is universal instrumentation notation for strings, and you may come up with your piece's instrumentation. Jackie Harris-Stone, Bass trombone, Orquestra Sinfonica de Monterrey Robert Bowman wrote: There is a book "Orchestral Music" by David Daniels that lists the orchestration for most of the major works. I do not know the publisher.
