As Ivan Hammond told me once, "the music was mislabled, it was supposed to be written for...." (tuba in his case) but obviously the selections on this CD were supposed to be for trombone. I hadn't listened to the CD--hauled it with me to Kalamazoo where I was giving a lecture, and later on my old college woodwind friend and I had champagne, chocolate, and Baroque Music on trombone. I recommend the combination! She kept saying, "You can't play that on trombone!" and I'd agree with her. Such delicacy, finesse, taste, and technique. Really lovely. I wished I had a CD player in the car on the way home so I could have played it then, too. Earlier that day had enjoyed something completely different--Scott Thornburg played EM Bagley's "Three Star Polka," for my lecture to demonstrate a 19th century cornet solo.
