Sam Egger's a Swiss company www.eggerinstruments.ch/home.htm - the modern instrument output seems to be limited to rotary valve trumpets, although I haven't looked at the site very closely. A price list for Dotzauer can be seen at www.aswltd.com/dotzauer.htm there are pictures for some of the range, but unfortunately not for any of the trombones. Thanks for the antique music site - v. interesting. Cheers! I always have a backup plan!!! Two years ago, I had lined up trombonist Michael Davis to be our guest soloist for our spring jazz concert (held in March). Who would have guessed that the airlines would be grounded due to snow in MARCH???? I ended up playing two of Michael's solo's, and our University President played two others. We cut one tune... It worked and the audience seemed pleased and gave us both a rowsing applause in appreciation. Nobody ever asked me if I wanted to grow up. And hey -- who the heck put ME in charge??? :-) Best wishes, Wayne -- ========================= Dr. J. Wayne Dyess, Professor of Music Lamar University Music Department P. O. The past two years, this has taken place at the end of August, however this year we have had to change the date due to scheduling conflicts. It is open to pre-professional, college, and high school brass players. Information can be found at the following website: http://www.barharborbrass.org/ The application deadline is approaching soon, April 15. The low brass faculty includes Blair Bollinger (Bass Trombone, Philadelphia Orchestra), Michael Boschen (Trombone, Extension Ensemble Brass Quintet), Andrew Bove (Tuba, Extension Ensemble), and myself.
