There is not a trombonist alive who has not been influenced by J. J. Johnson's sound, his message, or his love for the trombone. On this, the occasion of his passing, all of our thoughts, prayers, and love are with those who were closest to him.
We also take this opportunity to joyously celebrate the man. His spirit, and the music it created, will be heard as long as we have ears to hear, and a soul to recognize the truth he spoke through the bell.
